A stitch in time saves nine. As we are preparing to face the worst (hopefully we won't) but it always pays to be prepared than scramble around and panic to get basic protection equipment that can protect us and our loved ones from the pandemic.
Also thinking of the bright side when the lockdown is over on 14th April and we slowly limp back to our daily routines, I am sure a new accessory is going to be added to our daily dressing up for work, or going out routine. The quintessential face mask is going to be our valued accessory for the next few months.
So why not put our creative caps on and make our own in the comfort of our homes. The ones we make at home will the non surgical and can we washed and reused every day. Simply with hot water and soap and reused the next day.
Make a few neutral colors to match your outfits once we start stepping out. But right now we need then to support our community. The frontline medical workers and other Covid 19 warriors are facing an acute shortage of surgical disposable masks and if we make our own they will have access to the ones they need to protect themselves when they are fighting to save us from the virus. This will also serve the dual purpose of not filling us the environment with billions of disposable masks which will later create huge issues of sanitized disposal as they need to be trashed properly so that more infections don’t spread due to their improper disposal.
Health officials are urging Indians to use masks to prevent themselves from getting infected. Studies show that mask wearing and hand washing can reduce the sprees of the virus in households and shares spaces.
